The second edition of SMASH Lahti brings sports tech and environmental issues together to celebrate Lahti European Green Capital 2021. We will discuss about the topics "Greening motorsports with sports tech" and "Sustainable Sports Events" with global and local experts. We will share you good examples and showcase inspiring innovations. It's all about sports, sports tech and startups with a local "Lahti twist".

Toista kertaa järjestettävä SMASH Lahti tuo yhteen urheiluteknologian ja ympäristöasiat, onhan Lahti Euroopan ympäristöpääkaupunki vuonna 2021. Tapahtuman teema on "How to make Lahti more green" ja päivän aikana käsitellään monipuolisesti urheiluteknologian näkökulmasta sekä moottoriurheilun vihreyttä että suurtapahtumien ekologisuutta. Keskiössä on urheilu, urheiluteknologia ja startupit "lahtelaisella twistillä". Puheenvuoroja esittävät alan huippuasiantuntijat meiltä ja maailmalta.

Over the years, motorsport has been considered the “environmental black sheep” of the sport industry. Is this still the case? The organizers have to take into account the demands of sustainability when planning a sports event. The aim of the IOC's Olympic Agenda 2020 action plan is to reduce the cost of organizing the Games and make them more economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. Ecology and environmental issues are a Must also in event and sports venue planning. How are these issues taken into account in local club activities and sporting events? And what role does sports technology play in all this?
