Puheenjohtajan terveiset // Greetings from the Chairman of SMASH

Sain uutena puheenjohtajana lentävän lähdön Smashiin Lahdessa Salppurin kisojen aikaan. Tiukalla aikataululla tehdyssä tapahtumassa kaikki onnistui erinomaisesti ja odotusarvot ensi vuoteen kasvoivat merkittävästi.

Sen jälkeen iski Korona, mutta suunnittelu- ja neuvottelutyö jatkuu. Smashin osalta organisaatio saatiin taas viritettyä ja strategia päivitettyä. Kevään aikana tulemme informoimaan uusista tapahtumistamme, jotka olosuhteiden pakosta seuraavan kerran painottuvat vasta loppuvuoteen. Helsingissä kuitenkin jatketaan seuraavaksi ja aivan uudella innovatiivisella teemalla. Siitäkin lisää myöhemmin.

Smash ei jatkossa kuitenkaan aio elää pelkästään tapahtumistaan, vaan kaivamme esiin perustehtävämme entistä tehokkaampana, eli suomalaisten sporttech yhtiöiden auttamisen verkostoimalla ja mentoroimalla.

Lahti on Euroopan ympäristöpääkaupunki 2021, joten sekin antaa aivan uuden näkökulman Smashille ensi vuonna.

As the new chairman, I got a flying start at the Smash event in Lahti in the eve of Lahti Ski Games. In the event, which was done on a tight schedule, everything went excellently and expectation values for next year increased significantly.  

After that, the COVID-19 struck hard, but planning and negotiation work continues. For Smash, the organization was re-tuned and the strategy updated. During the spring, we will inform you about our new events, which, due to circumstances, will not focus until the end of the year. However, Helsinki will continue next and with a completely new innovative theme. More on that later.  

In the future, however, Smash does not intend to live solely on its events, but we dig out our basic task even more effectively, ie to help Finnish sporttech companies by networking and mentoring. Lahti will be the European Capital of Environment in 2021, so that too will give Smash a whole new perspective next year.
